Foto: Christoph Müller-GirodThe warm and transparent acoustics of the concert hall, the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra’s enthusiastic playing, and soloist Michael Roll’s vivacious performance of Beethoven’s piano concerto all added up to a magical evening. Music Director Jonathan Darlington was able to produce electrifying renditions of works by Vaughan Williams, Haydn, Berlioz, and Beethoven, which were greeted by the audience with standing ovations.Here are some impressions of the first concert.After the concert is before the concert.
